Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology Fellowship Award

The Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (JSPN) is now accepting applications for the JSPN Fellowship Award, given to young psychiatrists from Asia and around the world. The purpose of this award is to recognize young, outstanding psychiatrists and encourage academic discussion and personal friendships with young Japanese psychiatrists at the 108th annual meeting of the JSPN, which will be held May 24-26, 2012, in Sapporo city, Hokkaido.
Award recipients will receive a waiver of meeting registration fees, accommodations, and a partial reimbursement of airfare (JPY 70,000 for recipients from World Bank A and B category countries, and JPY 140,000 for those from C and D countries). Award recipients will be expected to stay at a designated accommodation, participate in the meeting for the three days period, give a presentation at one of the Award symposium, the themes of which are "Disaster Psychiatry" and "Substance Dependence" and attend other programs for JSPN Fellowship Award recipients. Award recipients will also be expected to participate in future JSPN Fellowship Award Alumni programs.
Applicants must be psychiatrists not more than 40 years of age and must not have received the JSPN Fellowship Award before. Applicants must belong to a World Psychiatric Association member society, and application forms should be submitted with a "Nomination Form" with signature of the president of the society as nominator and a "Recommendation Form" with signature of the chief of the belonging institute of the applicant. To ensure broad participation from around the world, the JSPN accepts nomination from each society to a maximum of two applicants.

Applications must be submitted via email to the secretariat of the JSPN, using the designated excel form. Necessary information should be all provided in the excel form, including CV and abstract of either one of presentation themes. The applicant needs to choose the one theme of the Award symposium and can submit only one application.
The secretariat will acknowledge receipt of the application.
